青山水庫也是八五六生態旅遊度假區的主要景觀之一，水庫佔地2.4萬畝，是省內最大的一座人工平原水庫，周圍是茂密的林木和大片沼澤。如今，水庫周圍已建起水上娛樂、水邊垂釣、特色餐飲、生態觀光、版畫根雕欣賞、荷花觀賞、野生動物觀賞等12個旅遊休閑景點。
八五六農場在發展旅遊業中注重因地制宜，藉助自然地貌開發建設，農場場部地勢西高東低，西邊是小山，東邊有魚塘，依山建起了青山公園，靠水建起了青山湖公園，兩園間地勢高低不平，是文化廣場、步行街和休閑廣場。自西向東形成了長2000米的休閑旅遊區。青山公園山頂南側陡峭的山崖上人工修建的瀑布，直瀉池底，構成了一幅優美的圖畫。八五六農場是由鐵道兵、轉業官兵和知識青年開發建設的。為紀念他們，農場在青山公園上建起了17.5米高的拓荒者紀念碑，並在荷花池邊立起了重10噸的知青紀念石。
一個外地遊客說：「(到八五六農場)看了以後，確實大吃一驚，農場的小城鎮建設確實是突飛猛進，「以人為本、搞和諧社會、生態建設非常好」。
另一個外地遊客說：「八五六農場雖然小，但建設得非常好，整個場地和樓房建設很有規模，非常不錯，你看著小湖多好，我們特意慕名來了，上這旅遊」。
今年，八五六農場看準了採摘園這個休閑觀光項目，在場部以北3公里處，投入200萬元資金，建起了佔地50畝的葡萄觀光採摘園。為了提高效益，採摘園內還種植了辣椒、西紅柿、西瓜、香瓜等蔬菜水果，遊客可以到園內採摘，感受其中的樂趣。
採摘園技術員付國輝說：「這個園區成為集休閑、娛樂、觀賞、採摘於一體的這樣一個生態園區，將成為八五六及牡丹江分局的一個旅遊的經濟亮點」。
目前，八五六農場青山旅遊度假區年接待遊客數量已由不足千人增加到3萬人，旅遊收入超過300萬元，已經躋身國家級農業旅遊示範點行列，正朝著「生態旅遊大場」邁進。

G. 牡丹江市第一高級中學的辦學條件

截至2011年3月，學校佔地面積.8萬平方米，建築面積9.3萬平方米。學校裝備了90個常規教室、10個常規實驗室、2個語音室、6個信息技術教室、5個通用技術教室，24個走班教室、8個多媒體教室，10個理化生探究實驗室，14個個性化創作室。每2-3個教室對應走廊設置一個公共學習討論區域，所有的教室和學習區域覆蓋互聯網。
學校建築包括語言與文學、數學、人文與社會、科學、技術、藝術、體育與健康七個學習領域教學樓，匯演中心、行政樓，以及師生生活設施。 語言與文學領域有容納300人網上閱讀的電子和文本閱覽室，以及報告廳和設備先進的語音室。 數學領域有電子文本閱覽室、多媒體教室，以及陳列著數學應用實例和數學模型的數學館。 人文與社會領域有文史閱覽室、電子圖書館、時事報告廳、天文台。 科學領域有常規實驗室、物理探究實驗室、電子閱覽室、物理奧賽專用教室；化學學科設有四個探究實驗室；生物學科設有植物組織培養室，在校園內還建有一個小生態園和小的生物走廊。 技術領域配有網路教室、演播廳、學校網路中心機房，以及裝備電腦機器人、電子模版、汽車駕駛與保養、微型車床加工車間等用室。 體育與健康領域有一個配有標准400米塑膠跑道、可容納三千名觀眾看台的田徑場，一座面積為8,792.7平方米包括溫水游泳館、兵乓球館、籃排球館的兩層體育館。室外還建有十塊籃球場地、五塊排球場地和兩塊標準的網球場以及一個足球場和滑冰場等。 藝術領域有獨立的藝術樓、標準的琴房，設有多媒體演播廳，並配有現代化的實驗實習劇場，大、中型排練室，音樂合奏室，舞蹈教室，器樂演奏教室，美術習作室，攝影室、根雕室等，有專業的管弦樂排練廳，大型舞蹈排練廳，樂器設備種類齊全，數量充足。 各學習領域教室內設學慣用品櫥，教學樓的走廊預留了閱覽資料、休閑的空間；領域教室除行政班教室外，預留了20%的教室做選修教室，為實施走班教學提供必要條件。 截至2015年2月，學校教職工359名，具有碩士研究生學歷的教師123人，特級教師8人，高級教師144人，國家、省、市級學科帶頭人和骨幹教師107人。
